Visiting Star Island, Isles of Shoals, New Hampshire

Friend, Melissa Barry wrote an article, "Isles of Shoals Tragedy 1902 Oceanic Hotel Star Island," and she has given me permission to link the article HERE.

  1. Lovely! I particularly like the third from the bottom photo. The old stone buildings are beautiful.

  2. Thanks Michelle. I'm with you on the stone buildings, and of course I had to have flowers.

  3. Beautiful, and OK, I'll admit it, I am a bit surprised at how rocky it is. Somewhere I missed that little tidbit. If we are voting, I like the 3rd from the top AND the 3rd from the bottom. :-))

  4. Lucky you! I went with one of my daughter's field trips to the Isles of Shoals and we only moored off Star Island to do science experiments and never landed on the island itself! I had an ancestor who was a minister on one of the islands, and several generations of another line lived there very early on. I'll get out there someday!

  5. Carol, thank you as always, and for giving your top picks. Heather, I always said, "one of these days" and finally just did it, on one of the hottest days of the summer!
